OMG!! I wasn’t expecting this. From Eden we’ve been cast down into Hell. And what does it mean that their eyes become clear after they have consumed the interlopers? OK, I’m hooked now. I have to see what happens next. Move over Stephen King.
You know, Stephen King was my idol growing up. I snuck my first book off the shelf in 4th grade (Pet Semetary) and hid it under the covers, reading into the deep night. I always wonder, was I attracted to his work because my brain works a certain way, or does my brain work a certain way from all the Stephen King I read. I sometimes wonder if I would be good at writing horror, or would I scare myself going to those depths.
Thank you for sticking around to see what happens, I warned you it probably wasn’t what you were expecting. But I can’t tell you how appreciative I am that you continue to support my weird story telling.
I used to sneak Stephen King off the shelf, my first was in 4th grade and I hid it beneath the covers. It’s fun. Maybe I need to play more with the genre. And just in time for Halloween.
This is my favorite post yet! From the INCREDIBLE artwork, and that opening set of sentences, to the horror of these fast, biting humans. I'm intrigued by the fact their eyes become clear after they ate the others...does this mean they are changed by them or just calmer? Like an animal with a full belly, or like a creature who eats to be transformed. Will our narrator go back to the island? Will any of them? What does getting bit mean? What do they do now? Sooooo good.

Ok, I'm waiting to find out what happened to you, the only survivor on that boat. The people on that islalnd were certainly scary.

EEK!
That’s the kind of reaction I LOVE. (MuahHaHa, chortled in a conniving laugh.)
I love it! You've slipped us into a horror story!
